Responsibilities

Design and plan network communication systems and provide specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
Troubleshoot and isolate network faults and failures and provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selections, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
Maintain technical expertise in all areas of network and software interconnections and interfacing, such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers etc
Work within a group or independently where collaboration and attention to detail is critical to mission success
Travel is required at a minimum of 30%
Analyze internal or external customer requirements and determine equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems by means of automated systems
Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance and reliability of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management
Provide backup and recovery services; manage file systems and disk space; manage virus protection on a routine basis
Make recommendations on how to purchase hardware, software, and system components
Adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines in all cases

Required

Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience; OR Master's degree with 6 years of experience; 12+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
Current active TS/SCI security clearance required at the time of application and must be willing to take and obtain an adjudicated CI Polygraph
Experience with Kubernetes (K8S), implementation, migration, and maintenance/troubleshooting
Experience with automation (Pathing & Configuration Management)
Network design and implementation experience with Cisco and HP switching and firewalls
OS System Admin Exp (Deployment and Maintenance)
VMWare (VM's and Infrastructure)
Windows (Server & Workstations)
Linux (RHEL 8 & 9)
Experience in Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) compliance and IA accreditation. Experience operating under and managing systems within NISPOM Chapter 8, DCID 6/3-ICD 503, RMF, (STIG), JAFAN, or JSIG information system environments
Must have a DOD 8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification. Security+ CE, CySA+, CCNA security, GSEC, SSCP, or higher-level security certification; certification must be maintained as a condition of continued employment
Network design and implementation experience with Cisco and HP switching and firewalls
Storage Area Network (SAN) and Network Attached Storage (NAS) design and implementation experience
Experience with cryptological devices (KG-175, KIV-7, KGR-42) technologies
Ability to travel up to 30% to various overseas locations or as needed. TDYs typically occur 3-4 times a year for 2-3 weeks per deployment
Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds

Preferred

WSUS & Yum repository management in air gapped environments
PKI implementation
Familiar with DoD RMF accreditation process/requirements
Experience with NetApp storage
Perform as consulting Systems Administrator and subject matter expert for classified government contracts
Obtain and analyze internal and external customer requirements, recommend equipment and software as needed, and oversee system implementation and accreditation
Navigate complex system configurations and implement enhancements that will improve the performance, reliability, and security of the system including installing, upgrading/patching, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration management
Develop and document technical processes and procedures as needed
Ensure necessary administration tasks are completed, and direct others as necessary
Analyze internal or external customer requirements and determine equipment and software requirements for solutions to problems by means of automated systems
