Staff Software Engineer, Machine Learning Infrastructure

Responsibilities
Design and implement new quantization features to keep pace with the rapidly evolving JAX ecosystem
Research and implement experimental quantization algorithms to lead customer adoption rather than just reacting to requests
Debug and optimize low-level performance issues. Use XLA profiling tools to analyze TPU/GPU execution traces, identify bottlenecks, and ensure the lowest-cost implementation of algorithms
Collaborate with the multiple performance teams to align roadmaps and resolve upstream compiler issues that affect quantization quality
Write high-quality documentation, tutorials, and examples for the open-source community to lower the barrier to entry for new users
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
8 years of experience in software development
5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture
5 years of experience with one or more of the following: Speech/audio (e.g., technology duplicating and responding to the human voice), reinforcement learning (e.g., sequential decision making), ML infrastructure, or specialization in another ML field
5 years of experience with ML design and ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, data processing, debugging, fine tuning)
Preferred
Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
Experience with developing and applying quantization algorithms
Experience with performance analysis and optimization
Experience with JAX
