Enterprise Applications IT Coordinator

Responsibilities
Oversees and is accountable for all IT services for the City including applications and, physical server and virtual server implementations, upgrades, and maintenance activities
Oversees the City’s outside IT contractor responsible for infrastructure (network, servers, and hardware), ensuring service levels are met and integration with City goals is achieved
Coordinates with specialized IT-related staff, including Public Safety Support (Police/Fire) and GIS (Public Works and Community Development), to align efforts and support citywide technology needs
Supports departments in evaluating, procuring, and implementing new software applications and digital tools; translates technical information into business terms and ensures solutions meet operational needs
Facilitates digital transformation initiatives, including the transition from paper-based processes to electronic systems and the adoption of integrated workflows that improve efficiency and resident services
Ensures that technology applications and data systems are reliable, secure, and compliant with applicable laws, regulations, and best practices
Provides project management support for enterprise and departmental technology initiatives, including planning, timelines, and vendor coordination
Monitors contracts, licenses, and technology-related agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness, compliance, and value
Provides input on technology budgets and long-range planning, recommending hardware, software, and system improvements
Provides user support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, office equipment, phones, mobile devices, and network issues; coordinates with vendors as needed for resolution
Oversees and coordinates office equipment systems including copiers, printers, VoIP phone systems, and related peripherals
Develops, implements, and monitors cybersecurity protocols to safeguard the City’s digital infrastructure. Coordinates with contractors and departments to ensure data protection, user access controls, system backups, and incident response procedures meet best practices and compliance requirements
Oversees the City’s private fiber optic network in coordination with outside consultants, ensuring reliability, security, and cost-effective management of the system
Stays informed of emerging technologies, trends, and regulatory changes (such as those affecting data security and property tax-related efficiency requirements) and recommends opportunities to improve City operations
Performs other directly related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar technology related field
Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in IT coordination, business systems, or related roles, preferably in a municipal or government setting
Experience in vendor management, enterprise applications, and project management preferred
Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the work
Strong understanding of business process improvement, project management, and digital transformation practices
Knowledge of enterprise applications, municipal technology systems, and IT vendor management
Ability to translate technical concepts into plain language for staff and decision-makers
Skill in evaluating software proposals and contracts for cost-effectiveness and alignment with City priorities
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and analytical abilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
Commitment to providing high-quality customer service to staff and residents
