2026 Raytheon Intern - Software Engineer (Onsite)

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain new software functionality
Work with previously written code and make modifications as necessary
Work closely with other disciplines (systems and test engineers) to troubleshoot and fix problems
Work in a dynamic, fast paced, and sometimes pressured environment
Incorporate a team-based success philosophy
Contribute to the completion of program and project milestones under the specific guidance of your immediate supervisor
How to follow established SW processes and procedures, development, documentation and maintenance/management of operations concepts, requirements (system, element, segment level), external and internal interfaces, and other software engineering work products/artifacts
Qualification
Required
Must be a sophomore or above by the start of summer 2026 in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)
Proficiency in Java or Ruby in a Linux or UNIX development environment
Preferred
Good communication skills and the ability to work with other software engineers in a structured team environment
Experience with shell scripting, Perl, and Ruby on Rails
Experience with database applications such as PostgreSQL and Oracle
Experience with Cloud environments and DevOps
Familiarity with Agile development
