Responsibilities

Quantity Take-Offs: Perform detailed and precise quantity take-offs for all E&I components, including conduit, wiring, cable trays, panels, devices, controls, and associated installation materials
Cost Development : Develop comprehensive cost estimates encompassing material costs, labor hours (based on productivity rates), equipment rentals, subcontracting services, and indirect costs
Bid Preparation: Prepare, review, and finalize complete bid proposals and supporting documentation for project submission
Specification Review: Thoroughly analyze project blueprints, P&IDs, single-line diagrams, instrument loop sheets, and technical specifications to ensure all project requirements are captured in the estimate
Risk Identification: Identify potential project risks, scope gaps, and technical challenges, incorporating appropriate contingency costs into the estimate
Procurement Support: Collaborate with the Procurement team to obtain competitive pricing from vendors and suppliers for major equipment and bulk materials
Subcontractor Management: Solicit, evaluate, and compare quotes from subcontractors (e.g., specialized controls integrators, fiber optic installers)
Project Team Interface: Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, and Field Operations to align estimates with proposed execution plans and constructability reviews
Client Interaction: Participate in pre-bid meetings, site walkdowns, and client clarification sessions to validate scope and gather necessary data

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent combination of experience and technical training)
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in E&I estimating, preferably within the Electrical, Oil & Gas, Commercial, or Manufacturing sector
Expert proficiency in interpreting P&IDs, electrical schematics, instrumentation diagrams, and project specifications
Strong working knowledge of relevant industry codes and standards (e.g., NEC, ISA, API)
Proficiency with industry-standard estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, Hard Dollar)
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel for complex spreadsheet calculations and data analysis
Exceptional analytical skills and meticulous attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly to management and clients
Ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

Familiarity with project scheduling tools (e.g., Primavera P6 or MS Project) is a plus
