Manager of Engineering II

Responsibilities

Motivate and lead direct reports, communicate targets, goals, and expectations to meet site strategy and budget (25% of time spent)
Provide technical recommendations and support, both to internal and external customers (15% of time spent)
Investigate problems and lead in facilitating recommendations for improvements to ensure highest level of quality throughout product offerings and services provided. (20% of time of spent)
Evaluate workloads within department to ensure appropriate facilitation of job tasks and workload to optimize departmental efficiency (20% of time spent)
Develop and coach team by increasing their roll knowledge, project management, and enhance skill set (20% of time spent)
Manage shop jobs with an emphasis on customer service, inside sales, and revenue generation

Required

A combination of at least 5 years of related experience in the following industries: Paper & Pulp, Engineering, Service, and/or Machine Shop
Proven leader with previous experience of managing others
Project Management
Data analysis background with high proficiency in excel and experience working with databases
English Language Required
Bachelor degree in Engineering related field or 2 years higher education considered with >8 years industry experience
Excellent oral and written communication skills, entrepreneurial skills, and interpersonal skills necessary to operate in a team environment

Preferred

Knowledge of paper machine industry experience is preferred, but not required, in order to develop and guide team, increasing level of knowledge and ability throughout all direct reports
Lean Management, Six Sigma and/or Operational Excellence training preferred
