Document Imaging Technician
Good Shepherd Rehabilitation is seeking a Document Imaging Technician responsible for maintaining and organizing patient health information in both physical and digital formats. The role involves gathering patient information, verifying its accuracy, and scanning it into the electronic medical record (EHR) to ensure accessibility and accuracy of patient data.

Responsibilities
Ensures medical record availability collecting all discharged medical records received via the courier on a daily basis or as needed by collecting all loose sheet filing via the courier on discharged charts and scans filing in Cerner on a daily basis or as needed
Ensure all medical records are prepped appropriately by including the correct patient demographics/patient identifiers on all documents and ensure each paper is properly prepared by removing stapes, adding missing labels, and taping loose papers accordingly before scanning papers into EHR the correct account numbers of every chart
Ensure that each document in properly scanned into the EHR maintaining that medical records are scanned properly ensuring that each page is recognizable and belongs to the appropriate encounter/patient
Will catch, correct all scanning errors and will double check to ensure that demographics/patient identifiers match the data found on the record
Will file documents/records appropriately and in an organized fashion
Will never compromise the integrity of the patient’s record in any way such as deleting images without replacing same or not scanning all documents required, not correcting bad images when discovered, or indexing incorrect information on records
Qualification
Required
High School diploma or GED required
Computer/data entry experience, ability to accurately sort documents alphabetically and numerically, including by terminal digit
Experience in quantitative and qualitative medical record analysis
Fluent in reading, writing and speaking English, with the ability to communicate clearly and tactfully; writes legibly and spells correctly
Preferred
Associate degree in medical office/health information management with successful completion of medical and anatomical terminology courses
2 years of medically related clerical experience
