Responsibilities

Gain the knowledge, skill, ability and experience to become a fully-functional Rural 1st Loan Officer
Build relationships with customers in the consumer market segment
Use knowledge of finance to understand the customer's or prospects' business and personal plans
Market the Farm Credit Mid-America financial services that best meet customer needs
Learn to originate credit by assessing requests and obtaining business and financial information
Work with supervisor and/or development partner to assess customer needs
Determine how best to meet customer needs
Obtain business and financial information needed for the credit team to make a good credit decision
Be coached on how to lead the customer relationship and coordinate with others to serve the customer's loan, lease, crop insurance and servicing needs
Develop and maintain a significant professional presence throughout the assigned territory
Learn how to build professional relationships with customers, prospective customers and influencers
Understand customer goals, credit strengths and weaknesses, and deliver value added/constructive information
Learn to determine and define the appropriate customer interaction and coordinate appropriate staff
Ensure appropriate communication to the customer and to internal team members regarding the customer
Interpret and evaluate financial information and ask appropriate follow-up questions
Learn to effectively recommend loan terms, conditions, and collateral position
Set clear expectations with the customer
Learn how to monitor the portfolio to identify and service loans that expose the association to risk
Negotiate and communicate servicing options to the customer

Required

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Business, or a related field
High School Diploma/GED with at least 5 years of experience in sales, banking, or a financially related role
Must be open to working in Ohio
Within the first 12 months of employment, you will be expected to apply for a full-time Rural 1st Loan Officer position across our four-state region (OH, KY, TN, IN)
Ability to sit, use hands for tasks, and communicate orally
Standing or walking is frequently required
Occasional demands include reaching with hands and arms, and lifting or moving up to ten pounds
Vision requirements encompass close and distance vision
Strong mental acuity and problem-solving skills
Valid driver's license and the ability to drive a long-distance
