Sr. Office Assistant - Texas AgriLife Extension Service

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Researches, composes, designs and disseminates promotional and educational newsletters, brochures, handouts, flyers, social media posts, email blasts, press releases, and programs used in teaching programs and 4-H events
Composes and types correspondence for County Agents
Coordinates and sets up educational meetings/programs including notification of events, advertisement, registration, equipment and contacting caterer if required
Maintains and updates all publications, educational data, administrative central file data and departmental filing system
Prepares and collects support material and data for agents
Serves as liaison between the department and citizens, public officials, state and district office personnel and federal agencies
Prepares reports used in collecting data for state information including monthly TAMED input, 4-H enrollments, and records
Responds to telephone/email inquiries and provides assistance to walk-in clientele
Maintains local 4-H calendar for county agents
Assists Parent Advisory Board with 4-H account—deposits & check requests; scans/files statements
Works with volunteers, committees, managers and leaders to promote and coordinator education opportunities for Extension clientele
Assists with academic eligibility & excused absences requests for 4-H youth participating in local fairs and major shows
Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers

Required

High School Diploma/GED
2 years job related experience
Working knowledge of Canva design platform; excellent computer and typing skills (minimum of 35 WPM)
Accounting/bookkeeping skills
Strong organizational skills and ability to complete assigned tasks within tight deadlines
Verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact and deal effectively with other employees, public and public officials

Preferred

2 years technical school and/or specialized training in business or marketing
