Responsibilities
Develop and maintain property-level underwriting models, development pro formas, and portfolio analyses for acquisitions, developments, refinancings, and dispositions (DCF, IRR, NPV)
Analyze rent rolls, lease structures, operating statements (T-12), capital stacks, and return scenarios to evaluate investment feasibility and risk
Evaluate property performance, capital needs, and long-term value creation strategies across multiple asset types
Conduct market research and track real estate, economic, and industry trends
Gather and analyze lease and sales comparables in collaboration with internal teams and brokers
Translate market and asset data into actionable insights for internal investment and development decisions
Prepare investment memorandums, development proposals, underwriting packages, and presentations for internal approval and leadership review
Support portfolio-level budget-to-actual analysis and operating performance reporting
Support underwriting for acquisitions, recapitalizations, refinancings, and dispositions
Assist with due diligence and closing processes, including document review, analysis, and coordination with internal and external partners
Prepare lender and investor packages, development feasibility materials, and capital markets presentations
Maintain communication with lenders, investors, brokers, and internal stakeholders throughout transactions
Provide coaching, technical review, and day-to-day guidance to junior analysts
Support development of best practices, standardized model templates, and analytical processes across the team
Promote analytical consistency, accuracy, and professional growth within the analyst group
Perform project-level financial oversight including journal entries, AR/AP review, cash activity, and project transactions
Compile monthly and quarterly financial reports for development projects and related corporate entities
Track project budgets and respond to budget-related inquiries from operations and executive leadership
Partner with the Controller, CFO, and accounting team on audits, tax support, and process improvements
Assist with documentation of procedures, training materials, and cross-training across accounting functions
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Real Estate, or a related field
3+ years of financial analysis experience specifically within commercial real estate, real estate development, or real estate investment (required)
Direct experience underwriting real estate acquisitions, developments, and/or operating assets required
Advanced proficiency in Excel-based real estate financial modeling
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial judgment skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced real estate environment
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred
Experience with a commercial real estate developer, owner/operator, REPE firm, brokerage, or investment firm
Experience underwriting industrial assets
Experience preparing investment memorandums and lender/investor packages
ARGUS experience a plus
Prior experience mentoring or training junior analysts
