This leadership role involves managing day-to-day operations, implementing systems, and developing team capabilities to enhance performance and efficiency.

Responsibilities
Lead day-to-day warehouse operations and a small fleet/driver team, ensuring safety, accuracy, and productivity
Manage labor scheduling and daily workload planning
Own inventory accuracy through cycle counting, reconciliation, and system discipline
Oversee transportation logistics including routing, carrier relationships, and freight cost control
Design and implement meaningful KPIs across warehouse and transportation functions
Build daily, weekly, and monthly dashboards to measure performance and identify improvement opportunities
Coach, develop, and hold team members accountable through clear expectations, feedback, and performance reviews
Help transition operations from manual/visual tools (whiteboards, clipboards) to a system-driven ERP/WMS environment
Develop, document, and enforce SOPs for receiving, put-away, picking, packing, shipping, and dispatch
Drive consistency, repeatability, and scalability across all workflows
Lead, mentor, and schedule warehouse associates and drivers
Establish a culture of accountability, professionalism, safety, and strong housekeeping standards
Identify training needs and develop team capabilities to support growth and efficiency
Manage the warehouse and transportation operating budget
Analyze labor, freight, and operational costs to identify savings and efficiency gains
Ensure effective use of space, equipment, and personnel
Qualification
Required
7+ years of progressive warehouse and transportation leadership experience, ideally in distribution, 3PL, or military environments
Proven experience managing operations through an ERP or WMS system
Strong track record of creating and using KPIs to drive measurable improvements in accuracy, productivity, and cost
Solid knowledge of transportation logistics, routing, DOT compliance, and carrier management
A leader who is comfortable rolling up their sleeves and working alongside the team
Direct, fair, and respectful when holding people accountable
A systems-thinker who understands the end-to-end supply chain
