Contract on W2 only :: WebSphere Application Server Consultant
Ampstek is seeking a WebSphere Application Server Consultant for a long-term contract position. The role requires in-depth knowledge of WebSphere Application Server and strong troubleshooting skills, along with experience in installation, configuration, and optimization of middleware products.
Responsibilities
In-depth knowledge of WebSphere Application Server, IIS with strong troubleshooting and configuration skills
Hands-on experience on installation, configuration, optimization and troubleshooting middleware products
Good understanding of industry best practices and Security standards (TLS, Ciphers, certs)
Good working knowledge of JMS, J2C, JDBC, JCA, Web Services and integration with upstream/downstream services
Exposure to industry recognized monitoring tools (e.g., AppDynamics, Grafana, Dynatrace)
Strong debugging techniques and analytical problem-solving skills
Ability to lead and drive resolution of complex technical problems
Experience deploying App/Web servers in large and complex enterprise environments
Scripting languages – PERL, Shell, PowerShell
Exposure to Linux and Windows operating systems
Ability to bring prior Middleware product skills and quickly integrate and apply to Banking standards
Confidently speak to and drive problem resolution with peer technology teams in high pressure situations
Experience in incident, change, and problem management processes (ITIL preferred)
Strong hands-on experience with middleware technologies and troubleshooting
Ability to work onsite and follow local office working model
Qualification
Required

Middleware Administration Certification (WebSphere, Apache, Tomcat, etc.) – Preferred
ITIL Foundation Certification – Good to have

Exposure to CI/CD tools and automation frameworks
Strong communication and collaboration skills
