Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain DB2 database environments
Perform database performance tuning, monitoring, and optimization
Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies
Ensure high availability and data integrity across DB2 systems
Support database security, including access controls and compliance requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve database performance issues, locks, deadlocks, and failures
Work closely with application development teams to support deployments, SQL tuning, and database design improvements
Implement and maintain DB2 utilities, including RUNSTATS, REORG, COPY, LOAD, and RECOVER
Support change management, patching, and version upgrades
Create and maintain database documentation and operational procedures
Participate in on-call support rotation for production environments
Qualification
Required
Must have skills: - Db2, DBA, Mainframe
Strong hands-on experience as a DB2 DBA in enterprise environments
Experience with DB2 performance tuning and monitoring tools
Proficiency in SQL, database design, and query optimization
Experience with backup/recovery and disaster recovery planning
Familiarity with DB2 utilities and maintenance processes
Strong understanding of database security and compliance practices
Ability to troubleshoot complex database issues in production environments
Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams
