Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

Support the development and implementation of engineering solutions for process and product improvements
Research, evaluate, and define equipment requirements to support plant operations and engineering projects
Install, modify, and optimize control systems on new and existing equipment using PLC knowledge
Assist with the design and specification of components and systems for equipment upgrades
Maintain and update engineering drawings and documentation using AutoCAD
Design and build electrical panels
Support capital projects, including planning, coordination, and execution
Provide mechanical and electrical support for engineering-led trials and development activities
Assist with the design, fabrication, procurement, and assembly of custom parts or equipment
Perform equipment layouts, installations, alignments, and system integrations
Evaluate equipment condition, performance, and capabilities
Assist with managing spare or excess equipment
Coordinate and oversee outside contractors for engineering-led projects
Participate in ongoing technical training as engineering technologies evolve
Perform other related duties as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related field OR Associate's degree in Applied Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline
Minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical and controls within an industrial or manufacturing environment
Strong understanding of electrical, mechanical, and machining processes
Working knowledge of Siemens, Allen-Bradley, and Control Techniques PLCs
Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings
Proficient with Microsoft Office and general computer-based systems
Proven ability to coordinate with outside vendors, including purchase order support and follow-up
Ability to fabricate machine parts from drawings for equipment builds or modifications
Strong teamwork, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills
Solid project management capabilities
