Responsibilities
Participate as a team and use core values and service expectations listed in the Kalahari Promise daily
Sculpt both cartoon and realistic elements
Sculpt object according to plans and specifications
Large and small-scale sculpting
Translating a 2-D concept into a 3-D piece
Working with variety of mediums- clay, silicon, rubber, epoxy, foam, carving, etc
Collaborate with other artists and craftsmen to complete projects
Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to fully grasp requirements
Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed
Carry out cost and quantity estimates of raw materials required for a finishing project
Select choice materials needed
Implement safety and health regulations during work operations to ensure environmentally friendly and safe structure
Qualification
Required
Proven experience as a sculptor is required
A leadership style rooted in collaboration, respect, and service to others
Preferred
Experience in 'finishing' adding fur, feathers, paint, and other details to a cast sculpture preferred
Trade school and/or related field certificates are helpful but not required
