Responsibilities
Architect and develop embedded control and communication systems
Transition early-stage lab demonstrations into field-ready prototypes
Collaborate with hardware vendors and engineering tool providers
Contribute to advancing embedded computing technologies in an R&D setting
Work cross-functionally with internal engineering teams
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
Strong experience with Embedded C/C++
Hands-on coding experience with Bash, C#, Python, MATLAB
Familiarity with virtualization technologies (Hypervisors, Docker, etc.)
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Willingness to work onsite in Niskayuna, NY
Must be 18 years or older
Preferred
Master's degree in computer science or related field
Linux kernel and driver development experience
Linux build systems (Yocto preferred)
Cloud platforms (AWS)
CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Git/GitHub)
Embedded systems security knowledge
Strong FPGA/SoC design using Verilog, SystemVerilog, VHDL
Experience with Xilinx and/or Intel (Altera) tools (Vivado, Quartus, ModelSim)
Digital logic design (FSMs, pipelining, optimization)
RTL simulation, synthesis, place & route, timing closure
Clock Domain Crossing (CDC) and metastability mitigation
High-speed interfaces: UART, SPI, I²C, Ethernet, PCIe, DDR
Testbench development and functional verification
On-chip debugging (ILA, SignalTap)
High-Level Synthesis (HLS), including Vitis HLS and MATLAB/Simulink workflows
