Senior Architect

Responsibilities

Lead architectural and interior design efforts from schematic design through construction administration
Translate design intent into coordinated, high-quality construction documents
Oversee design development, documentation, and final project delivery
Review, stamp, and approve final drawings in accordance with licensure requirements
Ensure projects are delivered on schedule, within scope, and aligned with quality standards
Maintain strong familiarity with local and state building codes, permitting processes, and regulatory agencies
Ensure compliance with healthcare, safety, accessibility, and sustainability standards
Conduct QA/QC reviews of drawings, specifications, reports, and calculations
Resolve complex technical and coordination challenges across disciplines
Lead and mentor project teams, including junior architects and technical staff
Coordinate with consultants, engineers, vendors, and contractors to ensure integrated project delivery
Establish project workflows, documentation strategies, and BIM execution plans in alignment with internal standards
Foster a collaborative, high-performance team environment
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
Communicate regularly with client leadership to confirm requirements, review progress, and present deliverables
Build and maintain trusted client relationships through responsiveness and technical excellence
Participate in site visits, field reviews, and coordination meetings
Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, samples, and schedules
Support resolution of construction-phase issues and ensure design intent is maintained
Integrate sustainable design strategies and green workplace practices into projects
Apply LEED principles and integrated design solutions where appropriate
Support continuous improvement through lessons-learned reviews and best-practice development
Contribute to business development initiatives, including client meetings and proposal preparation
Assist in identifying opportunities to expand services with existing clients
Support development of fee proposals and marketing materials

Required

Bachelor's degree in Architecture required
8–15 years of professional experience in architecture, with a strong focus on healthcare and interior projects
Licensed Architect with active registration in Texas required
NCARB certification required
LEED credential required or to be obtained within 12 months of employment
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident authorized to work in the United States
Advanced knowledge of architectural design, construction methodologies, and material applications
Strong understanding of healthcare design standards, including FGI guidelines and safety codes
Proven expertise in QA/QC processes and technical documentation
Proficiency in Revit required
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines
Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team coordination skills

Preferred

Master's degree preferred
Experience working in local and multi-state U.S. markets preferred
Experience with BIM and IPD preferred
Experience with 3D visualization tools (e.g., Enscape) preferred
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), SketchUp preferred
