Responsibilities
Define and oversee the technical approach for application architecture and design
Guide developers during Functional and Technical Design reviews
Review, revise, and approve architecture and design documentation
Provide continuous technical input during meetings and architecture discussions
Create and maintain application architecture vision, strategy, standards, and policies
Ensure adherence to architectural principles and best practices
Review Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and recommend alternative best-practice solutions when applicable
Review source code changes and unit test cases for high-risk components
Identify and escalate technical risks to ensure project timelines and quality
Support architecture decisions for ME applications and related platforms
Consult and advise development and infrastructure teams on: Application architecture, Integration technologies, Platform and infrastructure services
Support enterprise architecture initiatives across business domains
Influence teams toward reusable, scalable, and cost-effective solutions
Promote cost optimization and productivity improvements through appropriate technology usage
Maintain effective multitasking, prioritization, and workload management
Influence and empower team members for growth and independence
Demonstrate strong professional leadership, ownership, and accountability
Drive continuous improvement and change initiatives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience/training)
8+ years of development experience with COBOL, IMS, DB/DC
5+ years of application architecture and design experience
Strong expertise in Application Architecture Principles and Design
Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Hands-on experience across multiple computing architectures and environments
Strong understanding of Agile and SDLC methodologies
Extensive experience in requirements analysis
Use case development
Software development life cycle
Knowledge of IBM MQ
IIB
SOA (Service-Oriented Architecture) principles and integration practices
Experience supporting large-scale, highly available systems
Understanding of end-to-end implementation processes and tools
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple architecture initiatives simultaneously
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-urgency environment
Architecture Principle & Design
Preferred
Master's degree in a related technical discipline
3+ years of technical or team leadership experience
Airline industry experience (preferred)
