Alden Laurel is a premier fine gardening company serving high-end clients in Lincoln, Concord, Weston, and Wellesley. They are seeking an experienced Account Manager to oversee 30-40 residential accounts, providing expert horticultural services while mentoring a team.

Responsibilities

Team Leadership: In this field role, you will lead Crews and Gardeners, serving as a horticultural mentor and supporting daily time management. Your role includes identifying and delivering educational opportunities to enhance the team's expertise
Client Engagement: Collaborate closely with clients to understand their specific preferences, plant choices, and aesthetic goals. Execute all necessary seasonal maintenance while providing expert advice and design solutions tailored to their unique vision
Project Oversight: Independently manage horticultural client accounts, overseeing small projects from conception to completion. Monitor project timelines, budgets, and quality standards with a keen focus on horticultural excellence
Plant Selection and Care: Leverage your horticultural expertise to recommend and assist the selection, planting, and ongoing care of diverse plant species. Ensure that horticultural projects align with the clients' desires and thrive over time
Communication: Maintain transparent and effective communication with clients, updating them on project progress, addressing inquiries, and ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle
Record Keeping: Keep meticulous records of client interactions, horticultural project details, and financial transactions. Utilize organizational tools to streamline processes and enhance efficiency

Required

Minimum 5 years professional fine gardening experience - This is non-negotiable
Proven pruning expertise - Especially with woody plants and ornamental trees/shrubs
Crew leadership experience - You've led teams in the field and know how to mentor effectively
Plant knowledge - Strong working knowledge of plant identification, care requirements, and regional growing conditions
Client-facing skills - Comfortable communicating with high-end residential clients and translating their vision into reality
Physical capability - This is outdoor fieldwork in all weather conditions
Organizational skills - Ability to juggle multiple properties, deadlines, and client expectations
Valid driver's license - You'll use a company vehicle to travel between properties

Preferred

Background in art, design, or formal horticulture education
Previous account management experience within a fine gardening company
Passion for continuing education and staying current with horticultural best practices
Positive attitude and adaptability in dynamic field conditions
