Workforce Development Manager
The Center for Economic Growth (CEG) is dedicated to driving economic growth in New York’s Capital Region. They are seeking a Workforce Development Manager to manage registered apprenticeship programs and support workforce development strategies to aid local businesses in attracting and retaining employees.

Responsibilities
Manage CEG’s Group Sponsor registered apprenticeship program (RAP), acting as a liaison between companies and the New York State Department of Labor. Establish and maintain program records, data, and information, including official documents and project tracking via CRM input
Ability to support the Director, Workforce Innovation, in growing the program by participating in meetings with potential businesses and effectively articulating the benefits of starting a RAP. Work with companies to design, implement, and oversee apprenticeship programs, including coordinating and leading regularly scheduled meetings with companies and partners
Give presentations to companies, partners, and business groups to share information about apprenticeship programs
Oversee program evaluation and manage continuous improvement actions, including bi-annual monitoring with NYSDOL
Coordinate regional activities with the Manufacturing Alliance of New York State and confer with state-wide partners to identify ongoing statewide training needs
Develop, prepare, and monitor program budgets, contracts, and agreements
Assist companies in identifying, understanding, and accessing grant and incentive programs available
Identify and obtain grants, revenue-generating options, and other funding sources
Develop and implement systems to maintain records on compliance activities
Work with industry consultants and other experts as needed in the development of apprentice programs
Strategize and inform future workforce development initiatives based on the needs of the community and interactions with stakeholders and team members
Build cooperative relationships with other local, regional, statewide, and national organizations in support of manufacturing workforce development, including, but not limited to, community colleges, vocational programs, government agencies, economic development organizations, labor organizations, and the Workforce Development Boards (WDB)
Identify and pursue funding opportunities to support workforce programming
Assist in other duties as assigned by the Director, Workforce Innovation, specifically in assisting other team members in tasks associated with pre-apprenticeship and other workforce development initiatives and programs
Qualification
Required
Degree in Business Administration, Education, or equivalent work experience
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills and experience working with external clients
Ability to meet deadlines and work in a fast-paced team environment
Highly organized, adaptable, quick learner, detail-oriented, and proactive work ethic is essential
Ability to occasionally attend various events beyond regular office hours
Ability to make effective presentations to management-level personnel
Strong computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases. Knowledge of Salesforce, or other CRM, is helpful
Preferred
Workforce programming experience, apprenticeship experience preferred
Familiarity with state and federal grant programs/agencies and processes related to workforce development preferred
Working knowledge of community college systems and other industry training providers, preferred
