The Oregon Department of Corrections is responsible for overseeing adult correctional facilities and is seeking a Transition Coordinator, Program Analyst 2 to manage transition programs for adults in custody. The role involves coordinating activities, implementing programs, and collaborating with various agencies to facilitate successful reintegration into the community.

Responsibilities

Direct, manage, and coordinate all activities for the transition programs located at the Institution
Manage the implementation of new program components
Identify and solve problems relating to the successful transition of adults in custody from institution to community
Create and implement program components consistent with sound corrections policy to enhance the adults in custody transition
Conduct needs assessment to determine what resources and services each adult in custody participating in the program will need
Deliver components of the curriculum such as employment, working with a parole officer (PO), family, financial management, etc
Facilitate group discussion
Record data, track participants, and participation details
Meet with release counselor and PO to discuss inmate progress and activities, identify special needs, and coordinate PO reach-in
Work with resource providers to create linkages to needed services

Required

A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, Behavioral or Social Sciences, or a degree related to the agency program that demonstrates the capacity for the knowledge and skills; and two years' experience coordinating or administering a program
Any combination of experience or education equivalent to five years of experience that typically supports the knowledge and skill requirements listed for the classification
Effective communication skills
Motivating, developing, and directing people as they work and identify the best people for the job
Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
Selecting and using training or instructional methods and procedures appropriate for the situation when learning or teaching new things
Managing one's own work time and the time of others
Persuading others to change their minds or behavior to accomplish program objectives
Strong verbal and written skills
Expertise facilitating group dialogue and planning activities, and the ability to effectively communicate program goals
Requires the ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relations with the public, fellow workers, other governmental jurisdictions, professionals, and representatives of special interested groups
It requires strong organizational skills

Preferred

Group facilitation or instructional experience in a classroom setting
Working directly with an AIC population (prior experience preferred)
