Responsibilities
Contact required users of backflow prevention devices to ensure that they are tested as outlined in the DEP, regulations Chapter 62-555 and City Ordinance 102.26
Properly document all activities to maintain records for compliance with city codes and applicable regulatory agencies
Remove, repair, test, and install backflow prevention devices
Perform other work as assigned
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent; supplemented by a minimum of one year of experience working in a public water distribution system and certification by Florida Water and Pollution Control Operators Association (FWPCOA) or University of Florida Training, Research and Education for Environmental Occupations (UF TREEO), as a backflow tester and repair person
Must obtain certification as a Cross Connection Inspector from UF TREEO within two years of employment
Must have a valid Florida Driver's License, Class E or higher
All required certifications must be current at the time of application and maintained in an active state as a condition of continued employment
