The Texas Attorney General's Office is seeking a Legal Services Coordinator for their Child Support Division. This role involves providing advanced administrative legal support, consultative services, and technical assistance, including developing reports, maintaining databases, and assisting with legal projects.

Responsibilities
Prepares notices, documents, and reports for attorneys; maintains the CSD appeals database and legal email proxy accounts; monitors the public filing databases and scans and uploads documents into ChAMP Docs and updates the ChAMP case management system; assists appellate and legal research attorneys with administrative and legal support as needed
Serves as a legal processing subject-matter expert on CSD agile, business, and technical projects in roles such as Project Owner, Project Lead, tester, or other roles as assigned
Performs casework and assists with legal projects as assigned by the CSD, Legal Services Division Chief
Assists with the planning and coordination of legal conferences and meetings as needed
Assists with general office duties, including but not limited to, processing legal mail, answering phones, taking messages, and scheduling meetings; maintaining calendars, virtual files, and records for other legal practice areas
Studies and analyzes appeals database information to ensure data accurately reflects the status of case activity; and works with appellate team to resolve discrepancies
Prepares, compiles, and reviews assigned ad hoc reports for internal and external purposes (e.g., for monthly or annual reports, audits, legislative or executive requests by utilizing existing databases within the agency)
Assists in the collection, organization, analysis, and/or preparation of materials in response to requests for program information and reports for the Legal Services Division
Provides support and collaborates in the planning, development, implementation, analysis, and documentation of Legal Services projects and training resources
Performs an array of cross-training, research, program assessment, and administrative activities related to the division’s legal services
Serves as an administrative liaison to state office and field staff related to Legal Services activities
Assists assistant attorneys general prepare cases for court, which may include filing pleadings, setting cases on docket, contacting court coordinators, other parties as needed, updating ChAMP and processing cases after court
Prepares, compiles, and reviews contract reports for transactional attorneys; maintains transactional files and records; assists transactional attorneys with administrative and legal support as needed
Serves as Notary and eNotary for the Legal Services section as needed
Assists with Legal Services inventory, attendance, leave, and other administrative functions as needed
Assists Legal Services AAGs with processing Texas Register and Texas Administrative Code updates as needed
Serves as safety officer for Legal Services and maintains section compliance with administrative responsibilities as needed
Performs related work as assigned

Qualification
Required
Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent
Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university; experience in the following (or closely related) fields may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis: full-time Child Support Program, administrative support, legal support, clerical, customer service, general office, or secretarial
Experience: 5 years of full-time experience working in the following (or closely related) fields: Child Support Program, administrative support, legal support, clerical, customer service, general office, or secretarial
Knowledge of general office practices and administrative procedures
Knowledge of the Child Support Division case management system and agency policies and procedures
Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws related to the Child Support Program
Skill in Microsoft Suite (Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point)
Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
Skill in effective oral and written communication
Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
Ability to receive and respond positively to constructive feedback
Ability to work cooperatively with others in a professional office environment
Ability to provide excellent customer service
Ability to work in person at assigned OAG work location, perform all assigned tasks at designated OAG work space within OAG work location, and perform in-person work with coworkers (e.g., collaborating, training, mentoring) for the entirety of every work week (unless on approved leave)
Ability to arrange for personal transportation for business-related travel
Ability to work more than 40 hours as needed and in compliance with the FLSA
Ability to lift and relocate 30 lbs
Ability to travel (including overnight travel) up to 5%
Preferred
Experience: Working in state, federal or local government
Experience: Child Support Division legal case work and legal support functions
Experience: Researching, analyzing, and communicating federal and state legal requirements and Child Support Division policies and procedures
Experience: ChAMP System Modernization roles such as Product Lead, Tier 1 representative, Change Agent Network Representative or other subject-matter/leadership role for local staff
Knowledge: Texas electronic filing procedures
Skills: Child Support Division document generation tools
