Responsibilities
Monitors the activities for and assists in recreation programs; assists with the planning of events and activities as directed by the immediate supervisor including special youth and children’s programs, City Parks and Recreation, special events, youth activities, field trips, mentoring program, recreation and sports programs
Assists participants during program activities; sets up and takes down equipment for activities and events; supervises and coaches participants as directed; maintains equipment and facilities in clean and safe condition
Provides a variety of clerical and office support duties; may assist with the ordering of materials and supplies; may assist with the collection of information and compilation of data for reports; creates, reviews and processes incident reports; assists immediate supervisor as needed
Qualification
Required
Equivalent to a high school diploma
Two (2) years of experience in community service or recreation programs
Valid driver's license
Acceptable driving record in accordance with city policy
Favorable results from applicable pre-employment and background checks
First Aid and CPR certifications required within six months of hire
Preferred
Experience working with youth
Bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
