Responsibilities
Assist the CFO and Controller in producing accurate and timely financial statements
Lead the monthly and quarterly close & reporting process, including owning the preparation of balance sheet reporting, monthly account reconciliation and supplemental data requests
Reconcile bank statements to the general ledger, managing cash flow, preparing deposits, processing electronic payments
Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual state and local tax reporting
Oversee all accounts, ledgers, and reporting systems ensuring compliance with appropriate GAAP standards and regulatory requirements
Responsible for leading A/R, AP, and General Accounting Departments
Collaborate with cross-functional partners to resolve month end discrepancies and solve process efficiencies
Ensure that proper internal controls are in place to safeguard company assets and provide timely and accurate management and financial reporting
Confirm financial status by monitoring revenue and expenses, coordinating the collection/ consolidation/evaluation of financial data, and preparing special reports
Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis throughout the company
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance, or an equivalent combination of training and related experience
Minimum five plus years of experience in multiple accounting functions, preferably in a construction environment
Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Experience with job costing on accounting software and ability to perform job cost analysis and reporting
Must be skilled in both accrual and cash financial statements and processes
Ability to use high degree of tact and diplomacy when dealing with others, especially in high tension or sensitive situations; not afraid to speak up and say what needs to be said
Ability to prioritize workload and handle multiple tasks while maintaining a high level of accuracy, quality, and productivity
Preferred
CPA strongly desired but not required
Knowledge of Sage/QuickBooks strongly preferred
