Loan Servicing & Recovery Specialist
TruPartner Credit Union is a mission-driven organization focused on improving members' financial lives. The Loan Servicing & Recovery Specialist will engage in early-stage collections, loan servicing, and quality control while helping members resolve account issues and preventing delinquency.
Banking
Responsibilities
Half of your time will be spent tackling the early-stage delinquency list
This involves reaching out via phone, text, and email to members with negative accounts
You'll use "persuasion and human relations skills" to navigate tough conversations, calm frustrated members, and negotiate payment solutions before losses escalate
You will also meticulously review loan documentation for accuracy and completeness on our core system's (Symitar) platform
You'll spend time ensuring documents are properly imaged and indexed
If you find errors, you'll coordinate with branch personnel to resolve "exception items" and prepare weekly production reports for management
You'll handle the technical side of the loan lifecycle, such as processing indirect/dealer loans and ensuring all paperwork from partners is in order
You might also process loan deferments, forbearances, or "skip-a-pay" requests, while jumping in to assist the loan clerk or senior collectors with overflow tasks
Throughout the day, your performance is measured by how "clean" your audits are and your ability to maintain a low delinquency ratio for the credit union
Qualification
Required
Strong attention to detail
Previous customer service and sales experience
Basic understanding of computers and technology
Strong communicator
Loan documentation experience a plus
Notary Public (or eligible to become one in the state of Ohio)
