Responsibilities
Performs as the team lead for the other coders and provide relevant guidance, training and work distribution
Will oversee as well as perform activities in support of all coding/billing in support of revenue cycle and charge entry, to include review of both CPT and ICD-10 code selection, review of billing processes and practices (charge capture) as well as verification of charges for inpatient services, outpatient services, professional billing and surgical procedures; and other duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification required
Extensive knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding
Knowledge of government regulations as they relate to teaching physician documentation and billing guidelines
Understanding of the importance of compliance with all government, department, and contractual regulations regarding coding and billing; and provider requirements
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
Preferred
Associate's degree preferred
5 years of coding experience is highly preferred
