Mortgage System Analyst
Texans Credit Union is a financial institution focused on providing mortgage lending services. They are seeking a Mortgage System Analyst to support the mortgage loan originating system by maintaining system components, assisting users, and collaborating with various stakeholders to improve processes and resolve issues.

Responsibilities
Configure, maintain, and oversee the administration and support of the LOS including, but not limited to, settings including personas, user groups, eFolder, loan templates, reports, input form builder, workflows, and all types of business rules/requirements
Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret end user needs and translate them into application and/or operational requirements
Assist users with questions or problems with the LOS; communicate with users regarding status of requests; prioritize and solve issues; document solutions for internal and end-user use
Assist IT team members as requested with Real Estate/Mortgage projects and to provide additional support to end users; cross train between positions to provide adequate backup coverage management to include version releases, system updates, etc. for applications assigned to the analyst to support
Assist and oversee report creation and report definition. Work closely with Development by creating report specifications as needed. Validate reports post development to ensure results meets specifications
Partner with other department to inform users about common LOS issues and how to proactively avoid them
Identify and assist in training needs, develop new employee training, training for changes, new features and refresher training as needed
Troubleshoot issues and clear them in a timely manner; partner with other resources as needed to research and find resolutions
Monitor interfaces to integrated systems ensuring that all systems are operating as designed
Maintain current knowledge of LOS (e.g., Empower) features and functionality, providing recommendations for improvements
Ensure the smooth implementation of innovative solutions into the business environment
Implement configuration changes and customizations as required by the business
Identify ways to assist management in product and/or business planning and improvement through requirements development and analysis
Participate on software releases and patches including planning, testing and distribution of software updates, release notes and training materials
Collaborate with third-party resources, vendors, Strategic Solutions, and other IT teams in support of projects and operations around business systems
Collaborate with cross functional partners to ensure alignment on priorities. Be an advocate for Real Estate/Mortgage technology needs with internal and external personnel, vendors, delivery teams, etc
Build, test, and implement tangibles for new system enhancements such as business rules, custom input forms, workflows, and third-party integrations through advanced coding
Other duties and responsibilities as required; management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities to this position at any time
Support the deployment of approved system change requests and enhancements to LOS (e.g., Empower) system functionality whether it is in partnership with internal development resources &/or with external resources responsible for solution delivery
Evaluate information gathered, reconcile conflicts, and analyze information needs to deliver functional and business requirements, develop use cases as needed
Assist Compliance/Risk and/or Audit in ensuring LOS (e.g., Empower) is functioning consistently in accordance with applicable laws and regulations relating to mortgage lending and information security
Maintain users, roles, profiles, security settings, and loan access settings
Maintain business rules and system specifications for data entry, workflow progression and regulatory compliance as requested by each business group
Maintain loan setup settings as applicable to ongoing business needs
Maintain complete document library, build custom documents as needed and maintain eFolder settings to ensure preservation of a complete paperless environment with requisite document retention. Create and maintain report library and build custom reports as necessary for business groups
Perform routine review of code, configuration, data, and usage to ensure long-term viability, integrity, and adoption of the program
Provide technical documentation on all process, feature, and workflow changes for proper documentation for communication to end users
Assist with system training initiatives
Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
Gathers end-user feedback regarding service in order to address issues, deliver applicable updates to management &/or to implement improvements
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of Texans' mortgage lending products, rules and services
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills to critically evaluate the information gathered from multiple sources
Ability to reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a more general understanding
Distinguish presented user requests from the underlying true needs
Distinguish solution ideas from requirements
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to prioritize work to meet project deadlines
Experience working with and drafting requirements for application developers
Highly detailed and organized
Exceptional interpersonal and oral communication skills
Advanced computer and typing skills
Good time management skills
Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers (usually internal staff), regulatory agencies, third-party vendors, etc
Ability to use a computer to create clear and concise written communications, including: emails, letters, internal documentation (project scope, work flow diagrams, instructions, project steps, references, etc.)
Ability to effectively communicate verbally, including: one-on-one conversations, team meetings, presentations and demonstrations
Bachelor's degree in business, computer science, related field or equivalent working experience required
4 - 6 years of experience as a business and/or system analyst
Subject matter expert (SME) in mortgage lending products and software
At least three (3) years of experience working in the residential mortgage lending industry preferred with a strong understanding of business processes/loan life cycle
Experience with Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, etc
Advanced MS Excel functions like formulas, pivot tables, and macros
Functional understanding of SQL, XML, SOAP, and IIS web services
Knowledge of scripting and script automation
Preferred
One (1) to two (2) years of software administration experience strongly preferred
Black Knight LOS (e.g., Empower) experience preferred
Middleware knowledge (e.g., WebSphere, WebLogic, MQ) preferred
Interface, API, workflow, and job controller set up and support experience preferred
Project management experience a plus
