Instrumentation and Monitoring Technician

Geocomp, Inc. is a uniquely integrated company providing services and products to help clients identify and manage risk associated with infrastructure design, construction, and operation. They are currently seeking an Instrumentation & Monitoring Technician to support the design, installation, and operation of geotechnical and structural monitoring systems on heavy civil infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

Assembling instrumentation and dataloggers
Programming dataloggers
Field inspection of construction activities
Field supervision of drill rigs including boring logs for geotechnical evaluation
Installing instrumentation in the field
Downloading and reducing field data
Occasional climbing up to ladders and lifting up to 50 lbs to install or decommission instrumentation
Operation of power tools and hand tools (hammer drill, Sawzall, wrenches, etc)
Producing reports
Configuration and presentation of data via Geocomp’s iSiteCentral web data management platform
Data analysis and troubleshooting
Coordinating and communicating with clients, subcontractors, and others
2-3 days of field work per week may be typically required in the summer months dependent on project demands
Other support activities, as needed

Qualification

Civil Engineering DegreeInstrumentation InstallationData AnalysisEIT CertificationGIS SoftwareCAD SoftwareMS Office SuiteField Construction ExperienceTeam Collaboration

Required

BS Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
Relevant educational or work experience in sensors, mechanical, geotechnical and/or structural engineering
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat
Must be able to work with teams and individuals of varying work styles
Up to 25% average travel (domestic) may be required over the course of a year
Valid driver's license and clean driving record is required

Preferred

Field construction experience
EIT Certification
GIS and CAD software experience
Instrumentation installation and monitoring experience
