SPECIAL WEAPONS SYSTEM MECHANIC LEADER

USAJOBS is seeking a Special Weapons System Mechanic Leader. The primary purpose of this position is to lead a team of mechanics in the disassembly, overhaul, modification, diagnostics, repair, and testing of the Air Launched Cruise Missile and associated subsystems.

Responsibilities

Lead a team of trades and/or labor workers
Perform nonsupervisory trades and/or labor work that is usually of the same kind and level as members of the work crew led
Become task certified on missiles and components that are contained within the position description by attending and successfully completing OJT, classroom training, and demonstrating proficiency in performing those tasks
Accomplish complete operational certification testing of assembled missiles following overhaul
Operate programmed test equipment to accomplish pre-disassembly diagnostic test of missiles and components, which require verification of operational characteristics to determine if they are within acceptable tolerances, or to isolate malfunctions to a subsystem or component
Perform missile final preparation and shipping tasks

This position may require travel
This position may require drug testing, and the candidate may be subject to passing a drug test upon selection

Selectee is expected to be granted with and/or maintain the appropriate security clearance required for the position
May be required to work overtime, rotating shifts, uncommon tours, weekends, etc
The work requires the employee to drive a motor vehicle. An appropriate, valid driver's license is required for the position
