Responsibilities
Own mechanical system integration and packaging for medium voltage power converters, ensuring compatibility across electrical, thermal, structural, and manufacturing requirements
Define and manage mechanical and packaging interfaces between subsystems, including enclosures, power electronics assemblies, busbars, cable routing, cooling systems, insulation, fasteners, and assembly hardware
Develop and evaluate product manufacturing trade studies, balancing performance, cost, lead time, reliability, serviceability, and scalability using first principles and engineering judgment
Make informed design decisions that consider manufacturing processes, assembly sequence, tolerance stack-ups, supply chain constraints, and cost targets
Identify and resolve integration and packaging risks related to tolerances, grounding, creepage/clearance, sealing, thermal expansion, shock/vibration, and assembly accessibility
Create and maintain 3D system layouts, packaging studies, interface definitions, and 2D drawings
Support prototype builds, system bring-up, and validation testing through hands-on involvement
Collaborate closely with electrical, manufacturing, test, reliability, and supply chain teams, as well as external partners and suppliers
Support transition from prototype to high-volume production, including DFM/DFA reviews and factory readiness
