Commissioning Project Development Engineer

They are seeking a Commissioning Project Development Engineer to identify and secure commissioning opportunities while leading the execution of projects to enhance building performance and energy efficiency.

Responsibilities
Build relationships with building owners, facility teams, engineers, and internal partners to develop commissioning opportunities
Identify client needs and develop commissioning and retro-commissioning solutions
Support proposal development, presentations, and contract negotiations
Lead commissioning and retro-commissioning projects from assessment through verification and closeout
Evaluate HVAC, controls, lighting, and building systems through site investigations and testing
Develop commissioning plans, documentation, and test procedures aligned with industry standards
Perform functional testing, trend analysis, and performance verification
Identify system issues, recommend improvements, and coordinate corrective actions
Train facility staff and support long-term system performance
Collaborate with internal engineering and operations teams
Travel to client sites as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Building Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience in commissioning, retro-commissioning, BAS, or energy services
Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and building controls
Experience working directly with clients in a technical or consultative role
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Willingness to travel regionally
Preferred
Commissioning certifications (CxA, BCxP)
