The Junior Accountant will assist with various general accounting functions and support the team as it grows, reporting directly to the Senior Accountant.

Responsibilities
Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) processes, including reviewing invoices, assisting with payment runs, and recording cash receipts and customer payments
Own the employee expense report process, reviewing submissions for completeness, accuracy, and proper documentation, and ensuring expenses are coded correctly in accordance with company policy
Assist with the monthly close process, including preparing account reconciliations, booking routine journal entries, helping analyze variances, and completing other close-related tasks under the guidance of the Senior Accountant
Provide support for internal and external audits, including gathering documentation, responding to audit requests, and assisting with follow-up items
Support accounting for retail and e-commerce activity, including cash transactions, refunds, gift cards, and basic revenue-related reconciliations
Help maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls by documenting processes and identifying opportunities to improve accuracy and efficiency as the company scales
Identify and help resolve basic accounting issues by investigating discrepancies and escalating more complex matters as appropriate
Perform additional accounting and administrative duties as assigned to support the broader accounting team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in accounting or a similar degree is required
Strong understanding of US GAAP
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with other Microsoft Office tools required
Strong oral and written communication skills required
Strong organization and task management skills required
High attention to detail and accuracy required
Strong critical thinking skills required
Preferred
1-2 years of work experience in an accounting-related role preferred, which may include internships
Experience with ERPs and Netsuite experience preferred
