Responsibilities
Providing structural engineering services and field support
Conducting preparation of designs and calculations
Conducting site walk downs of construction sites
Developing cost estimates and material takeoffs
Providing schedule and staffing input for projects
Producing and checking structural steel design calculations and drawings
Qualification
Required
20+ years heavy industrial/power plant experience or accredited bachelor's & master's degree in engineering and professional engineering license
Hard hat, steel toed boots, safety glasses and vest
Successful candidates must provide their own safety boots
Detailed knowledge of structural steel and concrete design principles and industry methodologies
Significant structural steel connection design experience
Proficiency with structural codes and standards
Extensive knowledge of heavy industrial structures and components
Strong computer skills
Proficiency with structural computer programs such as STAAD PRO
Proficiency with OSHA regulations
Able to coordinate and manage multiple large scale multi-discipline projects
Able to perform structural inspections and provide written report
Strong problem solving and decision making abilities, and the ability to build effective relationships with plant staff
Design engineering staff and/or vendors
