ASSOCIATE ACCOUNTING ANALYST

Caltrans District 3 is part of California’s Department of Health Care Access and Information, which ensures healthcare access for Californians. The Associate Accounting Analyst will perform difficult accounting duties, manage expenditure analysis reports, and assist in year-end activities while working under pressure and adapting to changing workloads.

Responsibilities

Independently performs the more difficult accounting duties which requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills and understanding of the entire accounting processes which include but not limited to reviewing proposals to change accounting procedures, preparing expenditure analysis reports for management and assist in completion of the year-end accrual activities
Successfully complete quality work assignments and meets deadlines, as required; and the ability to be flexible and adaptable to frequent workload changes based on organizational priorities and work under pressure for time-sensitive, high priority projects
Perform in a lead capacity and will exercise moderate control in the administration of established policies and procedures, and has ongoing contact with management, control agencies, other government offices, vendors, and members of the public

Required

Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Understanding of the entire accounting processes
Ability to review proposals to change accounting procedures
Ability to prepare expenditure analysis reports for management
Ability to assist in completion of the year-end accrual activities
Ability to successfully complete quality work assignments and meet deadlines
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to frequent workload changes based on organizational priorities
Ability to work under pressure for time-sensitive, high priority projects

Ongoing contact with management, control agencies, other government offices, vendors, and members of the public
Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
If meeting Minimum Qualifications with education, a copy of unofficial transcripts and/or license for verification must be included
Official sealed transcripts will be required upon appointment
Completed applications and all required documents must be received or postmarked by the Final Filing Date
Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 must be submitted
