Technical Product Owner

Best NanoTech is seeking a Technical Product Owner with a strong technical analyst skillset. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technical execution, managing the product backlog and ensuring adherence to project requirements.

Responsibilities

Scrum Board Ownership (in partnership with Scrum Master and Product Owner)
Create cards with thorough acceptance criteria, necessary screenshots, and test cases
Ensure cards are tracked and completed through delivery
Represent the team’s work in cross-team ceremonies
Vet work items for robust business acceptance criteria
Ensure adherence to and maturity of the Definition of Done
Maintain a prioritized backlog that aligns with both business objectives and technical feasibility
Partner with up- and downstream teams to capture all requirements, verify needs are met, establish robust test plans, and ensure no assumptions are unvetted
Act as the conduit between product, development, QA, and TDM teams to eliminate silos and ensure smooth communication
Drive integration between front-end and back-end teams, proactively addressing pain points in planning and testing
Partner closely with the UX/UI team to ensure user-centric design
Work with the Domain Architect to support and advance the technical roadmap
Analyze both legacy systems and new platforms (e.g., .NET, Azure Functions, SQL) to document workflows and dependencies
Validate API contracts, data types, and expected responses; ensure functional parity between legacy and migrated systems
Partner with QA to define test scenarios and advocate for early API testing to minimize late-stage defects
Recommend process optimizations for planning, data setup, and integration testing

Required

Previous technical/ development experience with .Net, Azure, SQL
Experience as a Technical Product Owner
Experience working with development teams doing code reviews
Experience analyzing code to find bugs/ errors
Must have retail experience with a major, recognizable retailer like (Kroger, Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes, Supervalu, Target, Cabela's, Macy's, Costco, Albertson's, Publix, Ahold Delhaize, H-E-B, 7-Eleven, etc)
Must have some prior experience as a C#.Net Developer and must be able to read C#.Net code
Must be located in one of the following six states (MI, OH, IL, IN, WI, KY)
Excellent critical thinking skills and the ability to bring clarity out of confusion
Technical acumen: Ability to understand code at a high level, test APIs, self-serve data analysis (skilled in SQL, comfortable parsing JSON, etc.)
Highly analytical with a hands-on approach—expected to dive deep into cards and topics and help with testing and validation
Self-starter who is eager and curious about optimizing team performance
Proven track record in analyzing complex systems and debugging issues across front-end and back-end
Excellent understanding of business workflows, with the ability to translate them into technical requirements
Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies, PI planning, and backlog management
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills for cross-team engagement
Ability to document end-to-end workflows and clarify technical dependencies
Familiarity with QA processes, test case generation, and integration testing

Preferred

Experience with migration projects (legacy to modern platforms)
Prior experience in a hybrid role combining product ownership and technical analysis
