This role supports the agency's commitment to zero fatal and serious injuries and a sustainable, integrated multimodal transportation system, while providing leadership and engineering oversight for the Region's traffic program.

Responsibilities
Lead, direct, and manage the Region's traffic program
Provide leadership, direction, support, management, and engineering oversight for the Region's planning and project development and construction activities as they relate to Traffic
Manage the Region's established capital program and supports delivery in conformance with applicable policies and department expectations for customer service, transparency, and accountability
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field
Professional Engineer (PE) license in Washington State or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
Experience in traffic engineering principles and practices
Knowledge of traffic analysis software and tools
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities
Experience in project management and delivery
Understanding of safety regulations and standards in traffic design
Preferred
Master's degree in civil engineering or a related field
Experience with intelligent transportation systems
Familiarity with work zone traffic control
Experience in public outreach and stakeholder engagement
Knowledge of state and federal transportation policies
