New Grad, Entry LevelSouthland Development Authority (SDA) is recruiting VITA Greeter/Intake Specialists to support residents with free, IRS-certified tax preparation services. The role involves welcoming taxpayers, managing site flow, and ensuring all initial documentation is complete and accurate before tax returns are prepared.

Responsibilities
Greet Clients: Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all taxpayers visiting the site
Manage Site Flow: Help manage the flow of clients through the tax preparation process and coordinate with tax preparers to minimize wait times
Explain the VITA Process: Orient clients to the process, answer general, non-tax-law questions, and guide them through the initial steps
Assist with Intake Forms: Help clients accurately complete the required Form 13614-C, Intake/Interview & Quality Review Sheet
Verify Documents: Review clients' documents to ensure they have all necessary forms (e.g., photo identification, Social Security cards, all income statements like Forms W-2 and 1099, etc.) needed for tax preparation and to determine if the return is within the scope of the VITA program
Maintain Confidentiality: Uphold IRS standards for confidentiality and information security, handling all personal data securely and respectfully
Coordinate with Site Coordinator: Communicate and escalate any issues, complex scenarios, or out-of-scope returns to the Site Coordinator as needed
Qualification
Required
Complete the IRS Volunteer Standards of Conduct (VSC) and the Intake/Interview & Quality Review certification exams
Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all taxpayers visiting the site
Help manage the flow of clients through the tax preparation process and coordinate with tax preparers to minimize wait times

Help clients accurately complete the required Form 13614-C, Intake/Interview & Quality Review Sheet
