Responsibilities
Perform dimensional inspections of machined, fabricated, and additive components using Zeiss CMMs and other metrology tools
Create, modify, and run inspection programs in Calypso
Conduct first article, in-process, and final inspections for prototype and development hardware
Review engineering drawings, GD&T, and CAD models to verify conformance
Provide clear, timely inspection feedback to engineers and technicians to support rapid design iteration
Document inspection results, measurement data, and nonconformances
Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Design Engineering, and PRL technicians to resolve quality issues
Perform manual inspections (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.)
Maintain inspection equipment, fixtures, and a clean work area
Contribute to improving inspection methods and quality processes within the lab
Qualification
Required
3+ years of experience as a Quality Inspector in a prototype or manufacturing environment
Strong experience operating CMMs
Proficiency with Calypso software
Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T
Experience inspecting precision machined parts and complex assemblies
Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
Comfortable in a fast-changing, engineering-led setting
Able to clearly communicate inspection results and provide actionable feedback
Proactive, problem-solving mindset focused on supporting progress
Preferred
Experience in aerospace, automotive, or other regulated industries
Background in prototype, R&D, or lab-based manufacturing
Experience with inspection fixturing and inspection strategy development
Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO 9001 systems
