The Senior Director of Optical Systems Engineering will lead a diverse team through the entire product lifecycle, ensuring seamless integration and delivery of optical systems.

Responsibilities
Leadership & Strategy: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing systems engineering team across multiple geographies. Develop, maintain, and defend R&D plans and budgets
Technical Ownership: Direct all optical systems activities, including Electro-Optical (EO) design, Opto-Mechanical integration, and optical link budget development
Product Lifecycle: Lead calibration, testing, EVT, DVT, and system integration. Define test methods and equipment requirements, driving test automation strategies
Collaboration: Work cross-functionally with Signal Integrity (SI), Power Integrity (PI), HW, PIC Design, Thermal, and Firmware teams to ensure seamless product integration
Customer Engagement: Partner with customer engineers to define product requirements and ensure our solutions meet the rigorous demands of modern datacenter AI deployments
Quality & Process: Implement FMEA and engineering best practices to ensure robust product delivery. Champion documentation and scalable engineering processes
Qualification
Required
PhD in Physics, EE, or related field with 5+ years of industry experience, OR a Master's degree with 10+ years of industry experience
Deep, hands-on experience with Silicon Photonics (SiPh), IMDD DSP, RF ICs, and high-speed modulators/photodetectors
Proven track record in CW laser diodes, laser-to-PIC coupling, and PIC-to-fiber packaging/coupling
Experience managing multi-disciplinary, remote teams and defending R&D budgets
Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment and willing to be 'hands-on' in the lab as needed
Ability to travel as needed to build organizational relationships and meet technical objectives
Preferred
Understanding of Six-Sigma principles and experience in test automation
