Responsibilities
Develop and maintain company standards for HVAC and plumbing system design
Coordinate with external design consultants to ensure consistent system designs across multiple projects
Perform quality control reviews of design documents and construction drawings
Develop and oversee commissioning standards in coordination with third-party commissioning consultants
Evaluate existing systems and troubleshoot mechanical system issues as needed
Collaborate with Architecture teams to align mechanical systems with space programming and operational needs
Develop and analyze energy models to recommend energy-saving strategies
Support Construction teams with mechanical equipment procurement and installation
Partner with Facility Operations to ensure systems meet operational standards and identify improvement opportunities
Provide construction administration support, including responding to RFIs, reviewing installed conditions, and documenting deficiencies
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or HVAC Design
7–10 years of experience in mechanical system design across multiple HVAC system types
Experience with commissioning processes and energy standards
Strong understanding of industry codes and standards
Ability to perform site investigations, including accessing roof and ceiling spaces
Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred
Experience with project management and construction administration
Proficiency with Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and load calculation tools such as Trane TRACE 700 or similar
