Administrative Assistant

NYSUT is a statewide labor organization affiliated with more than 1,200 local unions. They are seeking a full-time Administrative Assistant to provide professional support to Labor Relations Specialists and NYSUT members, including organizing meetings and managing administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning and organizing onsite and virtual meetings, calls, and events as directed
Type, prepare, proofread all documents. Draft correspondence and other materials as requested
Provide support for special projects; which may include researching matters, compiling data and information
Answering calls and responding/forwarding appropriately
Maintain and organize paper and electronic filing systems
Prepare and file timely: IP’s, arbitration forms, 3020a filings
Provide general administrative support including tracking and reporting expenses; preparing expense reports; ordering supplies
Engage in special projects and other duties as assigned
Commitment to work collaboratively and respectfully

Required

Excellent administrative, organizational and time management
Strong writing and proofreading skills
Must be detail oriented and adept at managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office 360 (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
Must be a self-starter, take initiative, and work well with others in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently, as well as within a team
High school diploma or equivalent is required
A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in related area
