Responsibilities
Provide critical systems and business support on a global team using a Mainframe technology stack and a mix of some distributed technologies, with an end goal of high availability and client satisfaction
Demonstrated support on a critical mainframe environment, using COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, MQ-Series, SQL, and VSAM files, as well as Easytrieve
Experience in mainframe performance tuning and capacity planning, including ways to reduce I/Os, CPU Time, MSUs, and MIPs, using Strobe, iStrobe, and Platinum Detector
Experience in navigating in an Oracle database environment for triage purposes
File format and comparison using File-AID; version management using Endeavor; debugging and unit testing using Intertest and Abend-AID; and job scheduling using Control-M
Ability to debug and reproduce issues in lower pre-production environments
Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic work environment while meeting results
Ability to quickly learn new concepts and technologies to support day to day operations
Demonstrate ability to form trusted working relationships with business unit stakeholders through collaboration and enhanced effective communications
Analytical & detail orientated thought process with the ability to take methodical approach to activities such as problem resolution, designing and solutioning
Demonstrated ability to articulate and explain complex problems or solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, Software engineering or related field
9+ years of hands-on experience with mainframe platforms
Demonstrated support on a critical mainframe environment, using COBOL, DB2, CICS, JCL, MQ-Series, SQL, and VSAM files, as well as Easytrieve
