Responsibilities
Own month-end close and financial reporting
Build and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports used by leadership to make decisions
Analyze financial results and provide insights to help guide company strategy
Lead and support the accounting team in day-to-day operations
Oversee lease schedules, fixed assets, and related accounting software
Manage truck and trailer financing relationships with banking partners
Oversee payroll operations
Design and manage risk management, insurance, and loss prevention programs
Establish and manage credit policies, including customer credit reviews and collections strategy
Identify opportunities to improve profitability and support growth initiatives, including expansions or new facilities
Lead the annual audit process and work directly with external auditors
Support annual tax preparation for the trucking division
Assist with accounting system improvements, policies, and process enhancements
Jump in on additional projects as needed
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
5+ years of progressive financial or accounting management experience
Strong working knowledge of accounting systems and financial software
Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
Clear, professional communication skills
Comfortable working independently while also collaborating with leadership and operations
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
Solid understanding of internal controls and segregation of duties
Preferred
CPA and/or MBA
ERP experience preferred (McLeod experience is a plus)
