Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of delinquent accounts across aging buckets from early-stage delinquency through legal and bankruptcy
Conduct daily collection activities including outbound calls, emails, text messages, and formal correspondence
Negotiate payment arrangements and settlements based on customer financial assessments
Monitor payment activity and follow up on missed or broken payment commitments
Analyze aging accounts receivable data to identify non-payment trends and risk exposure
Prepare weekly forecasts and performance reports segmented by aging category
Collaborate with billing, sales, customer service, and legal teams to resolve disputes and payment issues
Investigate potential fraudulent activity and escalate cases according to established protocols
Offer, document, and manage payment plans, extensions, and account resolutions
Perform skip tracing and assign field cases for accounts with limited contact information
Prepare and submit accounts for litigation and coordinate with legal resources
Interface with third-party collection agencies and track outcomes and feedback
Meet or exceed monthly collection targets while supporting continuous improvement of collection processes
Qualification
Required
Minimum of 3 years of experience in a collections role managing aging, default, and escalated accounts
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
Demonstrated experience handling accounts across legal, bankruptcy, write-off, and default stages
Proficiency with Zuora billing systems
Working knowledge of Salesforce for CRM and case management
Experience using a Customer Information System (CIS)
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including Excel and Outlook
Familiarity with Federal and State regulations governing collections activities
Experience preparing documentation for legal review and litigation support
