Director of Finance (2025-2026)

Lexington-Richland School District Five is seeking a Director of Finance to manage the financial affairs of the District. This role involves overseeing daily accounting, payroll, budgeting, and ensuring financial compliance with regulations while supervising subordinate staff.

Education Management

Responsibilities

Manages the financial affairs of the District, including daily accounting, payroll, accounts payable, budgeting and cash management functions
Establishes and maintains internal accounting controls and ensures financial compliance with state and federal requirements
Serves as information resource on financial matters to district administration, staff, and the public
Supervises and evaluates the work of subordinate staff
Performs related professional and administrative work as required

Qualification

Financial managementGovernmental accountingCertified Public AccountantMaster's degreeSupervisory experience

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field
Five years of experience in financial management or governmental accounting including experience in an administrative or supervisory role
May require a valid state driver's license

Preferred

Master's degree in a related field is preferred
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Governmental Finance Officer (CGFO) or South Carolina Association of School Board Officials (SCASBO) Certified School Business Officer(CSBO) designation is preferred
