Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain GIS software applications, tools, and integrations
Analyze and model complex geospatial datasets to produce maps, dashboards, and reports
Source, compile, and validate data from multiple inputs including satellite imagery, existing maps, and field observations
Develop user interfaces, scripts, and automation tools to support GIS workflows
Participate in the design and enhancement of enterprise GIS platforms, including web applications and analytics solutions
Establish and maintain standards and procedures for high-priority GIS data production and services
Provide advanced technical support for urgent programming issues or data analysis needs
Create visual outputs such as maps, charts, and graphs to support decision-making
Research and recommend new technologies, tools, and approaches to meet evolving geospatial requirements
Train users and technical staff on GIS tools, best practices, and system usage
Collaborate with stakeholders to define GIS needs, project scope, and architectural considerations
Document development efforts and provide regular updates on project status
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior GIS analysts and developers
Qualification
Required
5+ years of directly related GIS development or geospatial analytics experience
Strong expertise with ESRI tools and platforms, including: ArcGIS Desktop, ArcGIS Server, ArcFM, ArcPy, ArcObjects (.NET), ArcGIS API for JavaScript, ESRI Model Builder
Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, VB, or C#
Experience working with APIs and SDKs for GIS development
Strong SQL skills, preferably with Oracle / PL-SQL and enterprise geodatabases
Knowledge of ArcSDE and versioned database environments
Understanding of relational database concepts (tables, views, indexes, stored procedures, etc.)
Familiarity with geospatial analysis techniques and GIS data modeling
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools and basic AutoCAD
Understanding of GPS and geographic positioning systems
Ability to learn new technologies and adapt to different business processes quickly
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously
Preferred
Bachelor's degree preferred in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, or a related field
Equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered
