Responsibilities

Conduct security control compliance reviews for enterprise IT applications
Review architecture diagrams/artifacts for adherence to security policies
Approve measures to protect data from unauthorized access, modification, or destruction
Supervise risk assessments and ensure testing of data processing systems
Identify vulnerabilities and propose remediation strategies
Provide guidance on cybersecurity principles and secure architecture
Support secure system design initiatives and lifecycle security integration
Promote security awareness to improve system efficiency and reduce risk
Recommend encryption methods, firewall solutions, and network protection controls
Utilize ServiceNow and Azure DevOps for workflow, automation, and tracking

Required

Associate degree required in IT or related field
5–7 years hands‑on IT Architecture experience (with 2–3 years in cybersecurity)
Ideal backgrounds: IT Architect, Cloud Architect
Not ideal: candidates solely from Vulnerability Ops, Incident Response, or GRC roles
PhD candidates likely overqualified
Strong understanding of overall cybersecurity fundamentals
Ability to document and design large system architectures
High‑level communication skills for consistent stakeholder updates
Knowledge of hardware, processors, software, and engineering technology
Familiarity with Cisco Systems, IBM Tivoli Identity Management, or similar tools

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in IT or related field
Experience implementing secure enterprise architectures aligned with: NIST CSF, NIST 800‑53 / 800‑171, ISO 27001 / 27002, CIS Controls, Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA)
Prior Network Security Architect/Engineer experience
