Responsibilities
Play a key role in shaping a progressive curriculum within the SCAD School of Design
Encourage interdisciplinary collaboration across SCAD locations
Foster connections with related disciplines such as interaction design, industrial design, design management, and design for sustainability
Motivate students and faculty to think creatively, critically, and innovatively
Guide diverse groups of students and faculty, with an in-depth understanding of UX design methodologies, theories, and best practices
Demonstrate skill in project management, including organizing and leading a curriculum that prepares students for real-world challenges
Provide a comprehensive, hands-on education that integrates both theory and practice
Inspire students to effectively utilize components, patterns, and other core elements of design systems
Cultivate critical thinking and curiosity in students, empowering them to explore new possibilities in UX design
Possess deep expertise in user research, applying both qualitative and quantitative methods to gather valuable user insights
Design engaging, intuitive user interfaces
Master Figma and have a strong background in digital prototyping, usability testing, and visual storytelling
Foster a learning environment that celebrates diverse perspectives and backgrounds
Qualification
Required
Terminal degree (or equivalent) in the discipline or in a relevant field
Academic and professional credentials to teach in a certain discipline
Experience in or knowledge of related professions
Cross-disciplinary design experience or collaboration with other creative fields
Mastery of Figma is essential
Strong background in digital prototyping, usability testing, and visual storytelling
Preferred
Teaching experience at the collegiate level
Active engagement in industry organizations, conferences, or publications
Expertise in Figma and proficiency in industry-standard software
