This position is a senior-level engineering and software development role focused on building a new, fully integrated power system analysis tool used to automate outage coordination studies and stability/transfer capability assessments
The engineer will work as part of an operations planning group responsible for evaluating transmission outages submitted across multiple states
The team analyzes outage requests, identifies potential system issues, performs power system impact studies, and provides recommendations based on stability and reliability criteria
The new tool being developed will automate much of this workflow, reducing manual effort and supporting the increasing volume and complexity of studies
Qualification
Required
6–7+ years senior-level industry experience
Extensive coding/software development experience
Power Systems engineering experience
Experience with: VSAT
Experience with: TSAT
Experience with: EMS modeling
Experience with: CROW
Ability to integrate power systems modeling + data ingestion
Preferred
Experience building automated engineering tools
Tkinter GUI development
Experience with EMS, PI, CIMSpy
Experience with outage coordination studies
Stability and transfer analysis experience
Batch/automated simulation workflows
Familiarity with SOW‑style project execution
